Ted Talmon

Personal Information:  Ted Talmon began his career in real estate nearly 10 years ago. Ted is an active member in the local board of Realtors. He was elected President of the Durango Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) in 2005 and in that same year was selected by his peers as Realtor of the Year. Ted is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Realtors for Education, a non-profit organization assisting teachers, public schools and private educational non-profits with grants to supplement teachers’ supplies, field trips and equipment to teach the young people of Colorado. He is a Board of Director for the CAR Education Foundation, which directs the development of applicable educational course for Colorado Realtors.

Ted is a graduate of the Graduate Residential Institute (GRI) and he is currently completing course work in the Resort and Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS) affiliation, with a concentration in 1031 Exchanges, resort and second home properties and luxury homes.

Ted has a background in remote sensing (satellite and aerial data) and geographic information systems (GIS) and was involved with NASA contracts at the University of Kansas and New Mexico. He has taught at the college level, Fort Lewis College in Durango, utilizing geographic information systems.

Ted and his wife Leslie are “high school sweethearts” and have been married for 37 “blissful” years! They have two sons, Seth and Josh, a micro-brewery business and real estate investments in Boulder and Scottsdale, AZ, respectively. Skylar their daughter lives in Farmington, NM with new husband Ryan. Both are working with educational institutions; the Navajo Reservation school systems and San Juan College.
